Save Credit Card Information from Bookings#3342

?

At present, the Amelia scheduling platform on our site does not offer a way to charge customers for any damages or additional fees after a booking has been completed. This limitation poses a risk, as there’s no mechanism in place to recover costs if such charges are necessary.

I recommend implementing a feature that allows for post-booking charges, which can be easily integrated through a simple API from Stripe. This would enable us to charge customers for any additional fees or damages incurred during their use of our services.

Benefits of Implementing This Feature:

  1. Financial Security: Protects against potential losses by allowing the recovery of costs related to damages or extra services after a booking.

  2. Streamlined Operations: Simplifies the process of handling post-booking charges, reducing manual intervention and ensuring timely payments.

  3. Market Competitiveness: Many other platforms offer this feature, so adding it would keep Amelia competitive and in line with industry standards.

  4. Enhanced Accountability: Encourages customers to treat your facilities with care, knowing that additional charges could apply for any damages.

  5. Transparency and Trust: By clearly communicating the potential for post-booking charges, customers are more likely to trust your platform and understand the terms of service.

This feature would not only safeguard your interests but also enhance the overall user experience, promoting transparency and accountability.

We are hoping this feature will be added in the auto invoicing feature which you canr read about here: https://features.wpamelia.com/23

In the meantime, my cumbersome workflow is to get a booking via amelia, and then to manually raise an invoice via stripe to the client. Once this is paid by the client, stripe actually does store the credit card details, after which you can then charge them again if you need.

I have clients sign a consent form which makes them aware of this.

But yes, hopefully this feature is included in the invoicing feature handled by stripe etc. etc.

@Ronniead Do you know if this has been added yet? I see invoicing has but I guess I have to set that up. Would be nice if it just sent out a API call, confirmed with Stripe thats all that is needed.

I hold cards on file in case of no show via stripe and woo commerce My Account/ add payment method.
I set appts to pending then check if they have a card on file before I approve it.
Would Love too remove this super cumbersome workaround that may result in lost bookings.
Card info isn’t saved locally.
