Please allow it to be possible to reorder the steps in the booking form and not just the various fields in a specific step.

Yes, this is badly needed. Using it as a room hire booking form and to ask if people want “Extras” before asking the “Date” first is just the wrong order!

Merged Option to rearrange booking steps#3653

Dear all,

(Sorry but this is still not the notification that the feature has been delivered) 🥲

Many of you wanted to hear more regular and consistent feedback about what we are working on. That makes total sense, and we hear you!

We have prepared a post summarizing our work from the past year and current developments:

https://wpamelia.com/year-2024-in-review/

We plan to make our communication with you more regular, and post + newsletter (and some notification in the plugin itself) seem appropriate - let us know if you prefer a different channel.

Also, we are looking for volunteers to help us in some areas (more information in the post).

Thank you,

Alexander

So in 2025 you are planning on enhancing the user interface, which can serve as a foundation to fix this issue in the future? So basically, you are not planning this feature this year either?

In the hairdressing sector, a customer must make several selections before booking a service. For instance, they choose from 5 different hair lengths (short, medium-short, medium-long, long, extra-long) and 3 widths (S, M, L, XL). These choices are mandatory.

Then, they can select optional extras, such as a design, color, home service, etc. These are not required.

The current issue is that within the service setup, there’s only one single section where options can be created—both for required choices (like length and width) and for true extras (like design or home service). However, women’s haircut services often include 10 to 20 different options.

Since the platform only supports one level of categorization and no sub-categories, we’re forced to include all 20 options within a single service entry. As a result, most of our clients (95% book via mobile) must scroll through a very long list to find the right options. This is extremely inconvenient—they often miss options that are buried too low on the screen.

This creates a poor user experience (UX). Customers don’t realize some options exist, so they don’t select them, which leads to lost revenue on our side.

We need a way to either:

Create categories of options, and display them step-by-step in the booking flow (e.g., first only show length-related options, then width, then extras). We should be able to decide how many categories we want.

Or introduce sub-categories within a service, to better organize and display options without overwhelming the client.

🔹 User Need & Pain Point (to share with PMs/Devs)
User Problem / Pain Point:
Clients are overwhelmed and confused during the booking process because all service options—both required and optional—are displayed in a single, unorganized list. On mobile (which 95% of clients use), this long scroll leads to missed options, booking errors, and abandoned selections.

Business Impact:

Customers miss key options, leading to lower average cart value

Service providers lose opportunities for upsells

UX is frustrating, which negatively impacts conversion and retention

Operationally inefficient—we’re forced to cram 20+ options into one service with no hierarchy

Product Need:
We need a more flexible system for organizing options within a service, either by:

Introducing option categories, with a progressive and structured selection flow (e.g., “Step 1: Choose length”, “Step 2: Choose width”, “Step 3: Add extras”).

Enabling sub-categories within existing services, so clients can better navigate and select what they need.

This will dramatically improve UX, increase upsell potential, and streamline service setup for businesses.
