Replace Elementor Angie AI Integration with WordPress 7.0 Connectors Support#4909

With the 9.1 update released in late January, Amelia gained support for Angie AI — Elementor’s built-in AI assistant. While this was a welcome addition, it comes with a significant limitation: it ties Amelia’s AI capabilities to a single page builder.

The WordPress ecosystem is home to a wide range of builders — Gutenberg, BeBuilder, Bricks, and many others. Personally, I prefer working close to WordPress core and have been getting great results with Gutenberg. But regardless of builder preference, restricting Amelia’s AI integration to an Elementor-exclusive feature narrows the plugin’s appeal unnecessarily.

WordPress 7.0 will introduce Connectors, a core-level framework for integrating external services — including AI providers — directly into WordPress. Building Amelia’s AI capabilities on top of Connectors instead of Angie would make the integration builder-agnostic, future-proof, and accessible to every WordPress user regardless of their setup.

In short: replacing the Elementor-specific Angie AI dependency with WordPress core’s upcoming Connectors API would give Amelia a more universal, maintainable, and flexible AI integration path.
