Share Resources also with Events#1448

Hi,
so far, I love Amelia!
What I am missing is: we have different rooms and mostly events that happen in these rooms, or people can also rent the rooms for one or more hours.
I added the rooms as resources and created a rent-room-service for each room. So that is good.
It would be great if we could also add a room directly to an event, so that it is blocked then.
My workaround: I added the rooms also has employees and add them as staff to the events. Would prefer to not create artificial employees.

I need this to apply to a Guide not being able to be in two places at once.

Thanks for the newest addition “resources” it really helped us out in de usage of a specific room in a location to be only bookable once.

Now we would like to add this resource to the events aswell.

My client has an event on the location with only one room. Therefore it should not be possible anymore to select this location at the calendar for a normal service on that specific day, because the room is in use by the event.

Is it possible to arrange this currently?

At the moment as a workaround I added the rooms also as staff. So when add the staff it should be blocked as well, right?

The other event should be cancelled if the staff gets a booking in one of the events. I don’t even mind if the staff is the resources.

This is a crucial link without it resource management is not a complete picture and duplications of bookings are possible. It is a shame with the latest release of V2 Events booking form that this could not have been included. Whilst it may not have a lot of votes, I would suggest it is a core issue for correctly booking appointments and events… it has been here for 5+months, would you please escalate?

Having events block off a resource is also a very important feature that I need for my business. I am having to create a private service that allows me to block off the resource (room) for an event so it does not get booked. I found adding the room as staff does not work to block the resource.

I use Amelia for my event rental space called The Terrace. I have it setup with services for all wedding and parties. I also have public events which I use events. I need the exact same thing noted here. I need the ability to have a shared resource. With it a calendar so that I can view the resource’s schedule and look for a open day or time to perform maintenance then schedule the resource as closed for maintenance so not booking both from event and service will occur. Top of my list of important things. thanks.
